Privacy policy

This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can manage it.
This is placeholder text. Replace it with your own policy, reviewed by a professional, before you launch.
Audience measurement
We count page views on our own servers, in our own database. There is no third-party analytics service, no advertising network, and nothing about your visit leaves our infrastructure.
No cookie is set to measure your visit - which is why this site shows you no cookie banner. Pages you open in the same session are grouped server-side, and that grouping expires within hours.
Your IP address is masked before it is stored: the last part is dropped, so the stored value cannot identify you or your connection.
We record which page sent you here, and any campaign parameters in the link you followed, so we know which of our articles people actually find useful.
Measurement data is deleted automatically after one year.
Comments
When you leave a comment we store the nickname you chose, your email address, the text of your comment, and a one-way hash of your IP address. The nickname and the comment are public. Your email address is never shown on the site and never shared; the IP hash is not reversible and is only there to help us spot a flood of spam from one source.
We need the email address to send you the confirmation link that publishes your comment, and to reply to you if your comment needs an answer. Nothing is published until you click that link.
We keep a comment and its nickname for as long as it is on the site. A comment that is never confirmed keeps its confirmation link alive for three days; unconfirmed comments are cleared out after that.
Write to us at contact@launchkit.codes from the address you commented with and we will delete your comments and the record of your email address. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link, which stops the emails without touching your published comments.
